Satoshi’s Journal Co-Founder to Speak at Bitcoin & Lightning Hackathon

SatoshisJournalBy SatoshisJournalJune 16, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

Today Shock The Web 2 will begin a free, four-day hackathon. The hackathon is hosted by BOLT FUN, a platform for lightning network development and education.

Shock The Web is a user-friendly experience that encourages new participants to join the fun, with over 10 hours of tutorials and other informational content for anyone interested in building a lightning web application. The event is BOLT’s follow-up to its debut of the second virtual Bitcoin Lightning Network Hackathon.

The four-day event will feature notable industry speakers, thought leaders, and prizes over $2,500 in bitcoin. This event will host Satoshi’s Journal Co-Founder, Mr. Olusegun Kosemani, who will be giving this season’s opening speech.

BOLT also aims to make the design and development on the bitcoin infrastructure more accessible by onboarding builders with educational content, mentorship, fun, and prizes.

The industry experts and thought leaders will lead this event focusing on lightning workshops, discussions, talks, and other fun activities.

Participants will be given mentorship to design and build either their own products either individually or with a team.

On Friday hackers are expected to be ready to work on their projects throughout the weekend. Mentors will be accessible for guidance. On Sunday from 17:00-19:00 UTC, participants will present their projects for a chance to take home prizes of over $2,500 in bitcoin.

We look forward to seeing this season’s hackathon topping Shock The Web’s debut hackathon which was held in March. That event engaged 80 hackers, 13 lightning network applications were submitted, and $2,600 in prizes were distributed.

The event is free for those who want to connect with the lightning network ecosystem.
