What I’ve learned from interviewing Dan Weintraub. Today I hosted a Twitter Spaces with Dan, the author of (amongst other books) “How Bitcoin Fixes Fiat’s Destruction of our Global Neurology.” The conversation was fascinating as he has a unique perspective of the world; much of what we talked about appears in his writings (which are all available for free) but are no replacement for them, so I encourage anyone to look for them at: https://danweintraubcoaching.com/

In his book, Dan does a great job explaining how, since the creation of the fiat system, the mental health of the global population has steadily been decreasing. The cases of mental disorders like depression, suicide, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer and MS have been rising dramatically. We have been born in a world that is constantly pushing us to achieve more and in which we are always falling behind. Inflation acts like a rising tide, and we are all desperately trying to keep afloat. This means our brains are constantly bombarded with cortisol, adrenaline, and other chemicals, making us sick.

Most people cannot endure the pain, and to take the edge off, they turn to drugs. Some may be prescribed by doctors, like opioids, or self-medicated like alcohol, cigarettes, or worse. It is no secret that the level of consumption of all these substances is alarming across the globe, as everyone is struggling to stay sane in an ever-madding reality.

Most change, be that personal, spiritual, or of any kind, tends to come only when the pain of staying where you are becomes too great. Only when not changing is too painful do the doors of opportunity start to open. Dan and I agree that we are entering that stage worldwide, and though it will take even more pain to get everyone to look for answers, the process has begun.

A process that will no doubt take several generations to play out; it might even require that everyone who has a memory of the fiat system passes away for it to take hold finally. I believe Bitcoin is a physical and digital representation of that inner quest for change and can help us heal and get well. For the first time, we have something that can be used as the base layer for a new society. Something that is not based on a few ruling over the many, something based on objective truth and math.

Finally, we can build on top of something like this and align ourselves with the truth. Imagine, if you will, the economic systems that we inhabit as a garden. Before, fiat was the only soil we could use, but everything that grew from it was crooked and rotten. Today we can start to plant seeds in a pristine land where structures can grow as they should, and everyone gets to participate, no matter the color of their skin or where they were born.

When humans align themselves with truth and slow down from the craziness around them, the best, they have inside flourishes. What would happen when around the world, everyone starts to do this?

Truth and beauty will change everything. It is only the beginning of a multigenerational opportunity to heal the world by healing ourselves. Embracing and embodying our better self, slowly letting go of the fiat system that had us so sick for so long.

The universe is experiencing a profound awakening; I do not doubt that Bitcoin is a crucial piece of this. It will allow us to connect in many small societies around the world towards truth, beauty, and health.
