It’s your first month in 2023, you just started searching about Bitcoin and how it works, and now you want an accessible wallet. People sometimes ask me; What wallet are you using? To answer this question, I will list the best lightning wallets that are the easiest to start using TODAY!
By the way, this list is in no particular order.
Blue Wallet:
Blue wallet is a cool wallet you can download for both IOS and Android devices. It is straightforward to start with. When you first launch Blue Wallet, you have different options: create a new wallet or import an already existing one. When you create a wallet, you are presented with 12 or 24 words which you have to save somewhere safe because, without these words, you cannot recover the wallet’s balance if you lose or break your phone. If you want to import a wallet, you must provide the app with the 12 or 24 words you already have. The power of Blue wallet is that you can create a lightning wallet or an on-chain one, so it is convenient for both types of users.Just be careful of the address you are copying and pasting because if you are sending a lightning payment and you copied the wrong address, the amount sent is gone.
Muun Wallet:
Muun wallet is a lightning wallet and an on-chain wallet mixed in the same balance. This will help you avoid getting troubled by multiple balances and not feel lost, which balance is for lightning and which is for on-chain. You can simply use the same balance for both cases. Just be careful; if you are sending an on-chain payment, you have to pay some fees, and the wallet will calculate these fees for you. But, on the contrary, if you send a lightning payment, you pay zero fees. Be careful when receiving some Bitcoin; you must choose lightning or on chain to copy the correct address. I recommend that you back up your wallet to keep your funds if you brake or lose your phone. Muun has three options to back up your wallet, which are extremely safe.
Wallet of Satoshi:
The wallet of Satoshi is the easiest one you can use because it is really easy to set up; just download and install the wallet, open it, and you are directly greeted with your lightning balance. Just to secure the wallet if you ever lose or break your phone, you have to sign in to the wallet with your email address, that way when you download and install this wallet on a new phone, just sign in with your email, and you can see your old balance back.
Get Alby Extension:
GetAlby is a browser extension wallet that you can add to all commonly known browsers; just go to their website, click on install Alby, add it to your browser of choice, sign up with your email address, create a password, then create your lightning address, which you will use to send and receive payments. It is really easy to set up and start using. This extension will help you a lot because now you have a wallet on your pc, which will minimize the hassle of going back and forth to your mobile if you want to send a payment on your PC. In the end, these are the simplest wallets that you can use and that I currently use. Do you recommend any other wallet? Let me know in the comment section.
