Bitcoin adoption in Zimbabwe is almost non-existent. We do not have Bitcoin exchanges due to Government bans. We do not have any nodes on the Lighting Network. We do not have Bitcoin miners but we have the cheapest electricity in the Southern African region. Thanks to Anita Posch, author of the Bitcoin book, Learn Bitcoin, we have received our first set of hardware wallets. Finding Anita was like finding an oasis in a desert. I have every desire to change these things in my country with the few Bitcoin Maximalists that we have in Zimbabwe.

First Mission:

We made it our first goal on the WhatsApp group to grow the Bitcoin Zimbabwe community. This will enable us to increase participation among individuals. In Twitter spaces we want to create localized Bitcoin Meetups to orange pill and educate the community on Bitcoin, and Bitcoin income streams.

I’ve been in contact with Jon Logan, an African-American brother from America who is working with me to create the first Bitcoin meetup. We will be contacting a local church in Harare, the Capital of Zimbabwe, so that we can have a program there about economics, finance, and monetary policy.

My income streams from working for @GlobalBTCFest is greatly demonstrating the utility of Bitcoin and Lightning. @GlobalBTCFest is the only Space that hired me and they pay me in satoshi’s, instantly over the Lightning Network. This demonstrates to the locals that Bitcoin is not a highly volatile, speculative asset, or a get-rich-quick Ponzi scheme. In fact, Bitcoin is a medium of exchange that can allow us to outsource our labor and earn from foreign countries despite the sanctions that were imposed on us by our local governments.

WhatsApp Groups are very important because they are decentralized black exchanges for Zimbabwe’s to buy Bitcoin and sell it back into the fiat ponzi scheme, “US dollars.”

Second Mission:

I am working with Anita Posch on getting Zimbabwe its first ever Bitcoin node, because THERE IS NOT ONE BITCOIN NODE IN ZIMBABWE. We hope to raise the capital to buy our first node through donations. Zimbabwe experienced the worst hyperinflation ever recorded in our lifetime. Our hyperinflation reached 79,600,000,000% per month. One would expect that an economy like Zimbabwe, whose monetary policy has repeatedly failed them, would be leading in the adoption of Bitcoin due to our citizens actually needing currency that is deflationary.

Third Mission:

I want to bring Bitcoin mining into Zimbabwe. Why? Well, the first reason is because Zimbabwe has the cheapest form of electricity in Southern Africa. They charge $0.06 cents/per kw. The second reason is because this will be a business whose market is not subject to our citizens’ high unemployment and low wages.

Our citizens suffer from 92% unemployment and wages that are five times less than their cost of living. Instead, our citizens will be able to take advantage of our low energy costs, brought about by inflation, so that they have a competitive advantage in Bitcoin mining.

The mining project we are working on is very near completion. We have installed solar panels, air conditioning and reliable Wi-Fi. I am very positive that we will soon obtain Bitcoin miners and will be running the first proof of concept mining operation in Zimbabwe.

This will help Zimbabweans understand the economic value that Bitcoin mining affords their country.
